Hit the books?

• Hit the books means to study hard, often for exams, and sometimes all night!

• Face the music means to experience the consequences of your actions. So if you’ve done something wrong, you might have to face the music from your teacher, mother, or manager!

• If you like pop music (perhaps Coldplay or BTS?) then Beethoven or John Legend probably isn’t your cup of tea.

• When you are told to keep something secret, then you might be asked to keep mum.

• ‘That politician always beats around the bush. He never says what he means.’
