British or American English?

Grammar differences between British and American English are quite minor. In the USA, collective nouns are considered singular, but in those countries using British English, they are usually in the plural, so the band is playing, vs. the band are playing. The past temse of got in the US is gotten, whereas in British English it is get.

Dates in the US are usually written month/day, so 9/11 (an infamous day in history) is the September 11th, but in the UK the same day is day/month—11/9. It’s important to understand the convention, as dates like 5/7 can cause a lot of confusion!
